OAM Partners With The Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology

In 2005 the OAM Board of Directors voted to focus their efforts in developing a two-year degree opticianry curriculum that it would then present to Boston area colleges in an effort to create a new school for Opticians in the Commonwealth. A year later, the OAM, together with the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology in Boston, became the first state association for opticians to partner with a college in offering an Associate Degree in Opticianry. Today, the OAM continues to support the college by raising funds for scholarships, providing equipment, externship sites and mentors for the students.
