As the Staff Optician, you will receive, analyze, and process eyeglass prescriptions accurately. You will dispense and fabricate eyeglasses and direct patients in the proper selection of frames and lens choices in a fast paced environment. You will have an opportunity to deal with atypical, complex prescriptions in a specialized Ophthalmology environment. In addition, you will perform all associated activities such as filing, answering phones, pricing, general maintenance and cleaning, as well as other duties as assigned. A.A.S. in Ophthalmic Dispensing preferred. Massachusetts Dispensing Optician License required. Minimum five years experience dispensing and fabricating eyeglasses. The preferred candidate will be multilingual in Spanish, Haitian or Russian. Proven multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced setting. Must be able to work with a very diverse patient population. Effective communication skills with patients and physicians a must. Must be pro-active and a team player, and must be computer proficient.
