Mission Optician

The Opticians Association of Massachusetts seeks to advance the knowledge, skills and expertise of the licensed Optician through education, leadership, and legislative  representation. Our members are among the most skilled and well-educated ophthalmic dispensers in the nation, and the OAM provides professional support and numerous opportunities to enhance the technical and general skills of its member opticians. Our website is available to practitioners of opticianry as well as patients and others seeking information or assistance with their eyewear and vision. Welcome.   Save These Days!

  Make sure you mark your calendars for these fantastic upcoming OAM events:

  1) Our 15th Annual Golf Outing will be held on Sunday September 8th in North Oxford.

  2) Our Annual Meeting and Fall Education Conference will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 9th and 10th, at the Southbridge Hotel and Convention Center.

  More details, including online registration for both events will be available later on in the year.  We hope to see you there!

  Blair Wong Nationally Recognized

   

  This year at the 2013 OAA Leadership Conference, Blair Wong, executive director of the OAM, received the President's Service Award from OAA president Shirley Earley  for his life-long (over 25 years) service and contribution to the OAA.    Congratulations Blair, and thank you!

  Board of Directors Meeting

  The next Board of Directors meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 27th, 2013.  All members are welcome to attend.  Please email the OAM office more than 7 days before the meeting to reserve seating.
